Itzel provides bilingual (Spanish) therapeutic services in a compassionate and supportive environment for women, couples, parents and children while helping them through life’s challenges. Itzel has a special interest in working with women entering motherhood and mothers struggling to cope with transitions. Itzel is experienced in helping women adjust to the challenges of motherhood and create authentic meaning and understanding of a mother’s experience. She is passionate about helping women address emotional issues associated with depression, self-esteem, anxiety, grief and loss, and trauma. Itzel has worked with children and adolescents struggling with anger, ADHD, tantrums, aggressive behavior, self-injury and life transitions. Itzel also works with couples and is dedicated to helping couples rebuild and strengthen their relationship and commitments to one another using The Gottman Method. Her goal is to assist couples in gaining a better understanding of the needs of each partner and to teach couples how to manage current and future challenges in order to have greater relationship satisfaction.
Itzel integrates Cognitive Behavioral therapy and Solution Focused practices to help solve problems, find solutions in the present time and explore thought patterns in order to change one’s perspective and responses to challenging situations.
Ms. Ballew is registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT101210). She currently accepts self-pay clients and those who are looking to their health insurance benefits from Cigna, Health Net/MHN, and Optum.
